About The Position

The Cashier/Stocker provides excellent customer service while keeping the store well stocked, organized, clean, and welcoming. The role includes operating the cash register, helping customers with purchases, verifying identification for alcohol sales, and maintaining merchandise and store areas. Cashiers must be at least 21 years old; stockers must be at least 18 years old. Candidates must have a high school diploma or GED, be able to obtain a TAM and Health Card, and, in some locations, be able to obtain a Non-Gaming Card. A drug screen and background check are required. The position reports to the Store Manager.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED.
At least 21 years of age to work as a cashier, or at least 18 years of age to work as a stocker.
Ability to obtain a TAM and Health Card.
Ability to obtain a Non-Gaming Card in some locations.
Pass a drug screen and background check.
Ability to lift 20–50 pounds at any given time.
Ability to stand for an 8-hour shift.

Responsibilities

Follow the company’s customer relations philosophy and prioritize customers’ needs over secondary tasks.
Follow management directions and guidelines in accordance with company policies and procedures.
Inform store management of sales, cash, or operational discrepancies.
Prepare a shift-change report at the end of the shift and minimize cashier errors.
Accurately record markups, markdowns, merchandise used by the store, voids, and write-offs of bad merchandise.
Advise management of situations or policy violations that adversely affect store operations, including maintenance problems.
Keep coolers and merchandise shelves fully stocked and fronted.
Clean and maintain equipment, floors, and restrooms; keep the register area clean and displays unblocked, operable, and pointed toward customers.
Comply with city, county, state, and federal regulations.
Use upselling techniques and recommend products that complement customer purchases.
Greet and serve customers pleasantly before and after checkout.
Assist customers with purchases and verify IDs for alcohol sales.
