About The Position

The Cashier/Sales Clk provides customers with purchase totals, collects payment, and gives accurate change. The role also stocks and displays merchandise, supports customers on the sales floor, and helps maintain a clean, orderly retail environment. The position reports to the immediate supervisor or assistant manager. This is a part-time, evening-shift position at the Uintah location in Colorado Springs, Colorado. The listed pay range is $15.25–$16.00 per hour. The role is classified as non-exempt.

Responsibilities

Operate the cash register to itemize and total purchases.
Collect money from customers and give accurate change.
Place merchandise in bags or boxes for customers.
Balance cash received with daily cash sales and follow the cashier manual for accuracy and accountability.
Straighten merchandise racks, remove empty hangers, and return merchandise to its proper location.
Keep aisles and floors clear of debris and merchandise.
Display merchandise according to store standards and rotate merchandise on the sales floor or move it to the production area as requested.
Reduce customer wait times by requesting another cashier through the intercom system.
Maintain a clean and neat cashier station.
Return unsold, priced items to the sales floor and unpriced items and empty hangers to the production area.
Remove debris from shopping carts and return carts to the storage area.
Dispose of trash.
Treat customers courteously and helpfully, answer questions, and provide direction on the sales floor.
Maintain good working relationships with staff members.
Answer incoming telephone calls politely and direct them to the appropriate person.
Perform other duties and special assignments as directed, including duties outside the primary area of employment.
