About The Position

The Cashier/Sales Associate supports store operations by providing customer service, operating the register, maintaining a clean and safe environment, stocking merchandise, and assisting across departments as needed. The role includes cleaning high-use restrooms, gas pumps, store floors, windows, entryways, and outdoor areas, including the parking lot and pump area. Associates must be comfortable working indoors and outdoors in all weather conditions and staying on their feet for most of a shift. Both full-time and part-time schedules are available.

Requirements

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Must be available to work weekends and holidays.
• Must be willing to work on foot for most of the shift and indoors and outdoors in all weather conditions.
• Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand English effectively.
• Must have basic addition, subtraction, division, and multiplication skills.
• Must be able to frequently lift 10 pounds and occasionally lift up to 50 pounds.
• Must pass a pre-employment drug screen and be subject to a criminal history background check.
• Friendly, positive demeanor and ability to make customers feel welcome.
• Attention to detail.
• Punctuality, trustworthiness, and responsibility.
• Adaptability and willingness to perform varied tasks in a fast-paced environment.

• Previous retail or customer service experience is appreciated but not required.

Responsibilities

• Greet customers and operate the register accurately and efficiently.
• Handle lottery, cigarette, and alcohol sales while complying with age-verification and legal requirements.
• Provide friendly service and upsell when possible to increase sales.
• Keep the inside and outside of the store clean and safe, including deep cleaning restrooms, sanitizing gas pumps, picking up litter, and taking trash to the dumpster.
• Stock shelves, coolers, and displays to keep merchandise fresh and full.
• Sweep, mop, clean windows, and maintain store entryways and general organization.
• Cross-train in other departments, including the deli, as needed.
• Follow safety procedures and company policies.
• Help team members and assist wherever needed.
