About The Position
The Cashier/Sales Associate serves customers, operates the register, supports sales, and helps keep the store clean, safe, stocked, and running smoothly. The role includes cleaning high-use restrooms, gas pumps, store floors, windows, and entryways; picking up litter; and taking trash to the dumpster in all weather conditions. Associates stock shelves, coolers, and displays, follow safety and company policies, and may cross-train in other departments, including deli. The position requires working indoors and outdoors, being on your feet for most of the shift, and being available to work weekends and holidays. Previous retail or customer service experience is appreciated but not required.
Requirements
- Must be at least 18 years old.
- Must be available to work weekends and holidays.
- Must be willing to work on your feet for most of the shift and indoors and outdoors in all weather conditions.
- Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand English effectively.
- Must have basic math skills, including addition, subtraction, division, and multiplication.
- Must be capable of frequently lifting 10 pounds and occasionally lifting up to 50 pounds.
- Must pass a pre-employment drug screen and be subject to a criminal history background check.
- Must be personable, positive, detail-oriented, reliable, responsible, and flexible.
Nice To Haves
- Previous retail or customer service experience.
Responsibilities
- Greet customers and operate the register accurately and efficiently.
- Handle lottery, cigarette, and alcohol sales while complying with age-verification and legal requirements.
- Provide friendly service and upsell customers when appropriate.
- Clean and maintain safe conditions inside and outside the store, including restrooms, gas pumps, floors, and the parking lot.
- Take trash to the dumpster in all kinds of weather.
- Stock shelves, coolers, and displays.
- Cross-train in other departments, including deli, as needed.
- Follow safety procedures and company policies.
- Support the team and help wherever needed.
