About The Position

The Cashier/Sales Associate serves customers, operates the register, supports sales, and helps keep the store clean, safe, stocked, and running smoothly. The role includes substantial cleaning duties inside and outside the store, such as deep-cleaning restrooms, sanitizing gas pumps, removing litter, and taking trash to the dumpster in all weather. Associates may be cross-trained in other departments, including deli, and are expected to follow safety procedures, company policies, and applicable sales requirements.

Requirements

• Must be at least 21 years old.
• Must be available to work weekends and holidays.
• Must be willing to stay on one's feet for most of the shift and work indoors and outdoors in all weather conditions.
• Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand English effectively.
• Basic math skills, including addition, subtraction, division, and multiplication.
• Ability to frequently lift 10 pounds and occasionally lift up to 50 pounds.
• Must pass a pre-employment drug screen and be subject to a criminal history background check.
• Friendly, positive demeanor and ability to make customers feel welcome.
• Detail-oriented, reliable, responsible, punctual, and adaptable to varied tasks in a fast-paced environment.

Nice To Haves

• Previous retail or customer service experience is appreciated but not required.

Responsibilities

• Greet customers and operate the register accurately and efficiently.
• Handle lottery, cigarette, and alcohol sales while following age-verification and legal requirements.
• Provide friendly service and upsell customers when possible.
• Clean and maintain the interior and exterior of the store, including restrooms, gas pumps, floors, windows, entryways, and the parking lot.
• Take trash to the dumpster in all kinds of weather.
• Stock shelves, coolers, and displays.
• Cross-train in other departments, including deli, as needed.
• Follow safety procedures and company policies.
• Support teammates and help wherever needed.
