Cashier/Sales Associate - Store 6420
About The Position
The Cashier/Sales Associate serves customers, operates the register, and helps keep the store clean, safe, stocked, and running smoothly. The role includes sales of lottery tickets, cigarettes, and alcohol with required age verification and legal compliance; friendly customer service and upselling; cleaning and maintaining both indoor and outdoor areas; stocking merchandise; and cross-training in other departments, including deli, as needed. The work involves standing for most of the shift and working indoors and outdoors in all weather conditions. Full-time and part-time schedules are available.
Requirements
- Must be at least 18 years old.
- Must be available to work weekends and holidays.
- Must be prepared to work on foot for most of the shift and be comfortable working indoors and outdoors in all weather conditions.
- Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand English effectively.
- Must have basic addition, subtraction, division, and multiplication skills.
- Must be able to frequently lift 10 pounds and occasionally lift up to 50 pounds.
- Must pass pre-employment drug screening and be subject to a criminal history background check.
- Must be friendly, positive, detail-oriented, reliable, responsible, and adaptable.
Nice To Haves
- Previous retail or customer service experience is appreciated but not required.
Responsibilities
- Greet customers and operate the register accurately and quickly.
- Handle lottery, cigarette, and alcohol sales while following age-verification and legal requirements.
- Provide friendly service and upsell when possible to increase sales.
- Deep-clean restrooms and keep the store's interior and exterior clean and safe.
- Wipe down and sanitize gas pumps, including nozzles, screens, and water buckets.
- Pick up litter and trash from floors and the lot, and take trash to the dumpster in all weather.
- Stock shelves, coolers, and displays.
- Sweep, mop, clean windows, and maintain entryways and general store organization.
- Cross-train in other departments, including deli, as needed.
- Follow safety procedures and company policies.
- Support team members and help where needed.
