About The Position
The Cashier/Sales Associate supports store operations by serving customers, accurately handling register transactions, and keeping the store clean, safe, and well stocked. The role includes selling lottery tickets, cigarettes, and alcohol in compliance with age-verification and legal requirements, providing friendly service, and upselling when appropriate. Associates maintain both indoor and outdoor areas, including restrooms, gas pumps, entryways, and the parking lot, and may cross-train in other departments such as deli. The position calls for flexibility, teamwork, and working indoors and outdoors in all weather conditions.
Requirements
- Must be at least 21 years old.
- Must be available to work weekends and holidays.
- Must be prepared to stay on their feet for most of the shift and work indoors and outdoors in all weather conditions.
- Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English effectively.
- Basic math skills, including addition, subtraction, division, and multiplication.
- Ability to frequently lift 10 pounds and occasionally lift up to 50 pounds.
- Must pass a pre-employment drug screen and be subject to a criminal history background check.
- Friendly and positive demeanor, attention to detail, reliability, responsibility, and flexibility.
- Previous retail or customer service experience is appreciated but not required.

Responsibilities
- Greet customers and operate the register accurately and quickly.
- Handle lottery, cigarette, and alcohol sales while following age-verification and legal requirements.
- Provide friendly customer service and upsell when possible.
- Keep the store and surrounding areas clean and safe, including deep cleaning restrooms, sanitizing gas pumps, removing litter, and taking trash to the dumpster.
- Stock shelves, coolers, and displays.
- Sweep, mop, clean windows, and maintain store entryways.
- Cross-train in other departments, including deli, as needed.
- Follow safety procedures and company policies.
- Work as a team member and help where needed.
