About The Position
The Cashier/Sales Associate serves customers and helps keep the store clean, safe, inviting, and running smoothly. The role includes operating the register, complying with legal age-verification requirements for lottery, cigarette, and alcohol sales, providing friendly service, and offering relevant upsells. Associates clean and maintain both indoor and outdoor areas, stock merchandise, and may cross-train in other departments, including deli. The position requires working on one's feet for most of a shift and being comfortable working indoors and outdoors in varied weather. Full-time and part-time schedules are available.
Requirements
- Must be at least 18 years old.
- Must be available to work weekends and holidays.
- Must be prepared to work on their feet for most of the shift and comfortable working indoors and outdoors in all weather conditions.
- Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand English effectively.
- Must have basic addition, subtraction, division, and multiplication skills.
- Must be able to frequently lift 10 pounds and occasionally lift up to 50 pounds.
- Must pass a pre-employment drug screen and be subject to a criminal-history background check.
- Friendly and positive demeanor, with the ability to make customers feel welcome.
- Detail-oriented, reliable, punctual, trustworthy, and responsible.
- Flexible and adaptable to a variety of tasks in a fast-paced environment.

- Previous retail or customer-service experience is appreciated but not required.
Responsibilities
- Greet customers and operate the register accurately and efficiently.
- Handle lottery, cigarette, and alcohol sales in compliance with age-verification and legal requirements.
- Provide friendly customer service and upsell when appropriate.
- Clean and maintain the interior and exterior of the store, including restrooms, gas pumps, floors, windows, entryways, and lot areas.
- Remove litter and trash, including taking trash to the dumpster in all kinds of weather.
- Stock shelves, coolers, and displays.
- Cross-train in other departments, including deli, as needed.
- Follow safety procedures and company policies.
- Support team members and help wherever needed.
