About The Position

The Cashier/Sales Associate serves customers, operates the register, supports sales, and helps keep the store clean, safe, stocked, and running smoothly. The role includes cleaning indoor and outdoor areas such as restrooms, gas pumps, floors, and parking-lot areas, and may involve cross-training in other departments, including deli. Candidates should be prepared to work on their feet, indoors and outdoors in all weather conditions, and to support the team wherever needed.

Requirements

Must be at least 18 years old.
Must be available to work weekends and holidays.
Must be willing to work hard and remain on their feet for most of the shift.
Must be comfortable working indoors and outdoors in all weather conditions.
Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English effectively.
Basic math skills, including addition, subtraction, division, and multiplication.
Ability to frequently lift 10 pounds and occasionally lift up to 50 pounds.
Must pass a pre-employment drug screen and be subject to a criminal-history background check.
Friendly, positive demeanor and ability to make customers feel welcome.
Detail-oriented, reliable, punctual, trustworthy, flexible, and willing to perform varied tasks in a fast-paced environment.

Nice To Haves

Previous retail or customer-service experience is appreciated but not required.

Responsibilities

Greet customers and operate the register accurately and efficiently.
Handle lottery, cigarette, and alcohol sales while complying with age-verification and legal requirements.
Provide friendly customer service and upsell when appropriate.
Deep-clean high-use restrooms.
Wipe down and sanitize gas pumps, including nozzles, screens, and water buckets.
Pick up litter and trash from the store floor and parking-lot area.
Take trash to the dumpster in all kinds of weather.
Stock shelves, coolers, and displays, keeping merchandise fresh and full.
Sweep, mop, clean windows, and maintain store organization and entryways.
Cross-train in other departments, including deli, as needed.
Follow safety procedures and company policies.
Work as a team player and help wherever needed.
