About The Position
The Cashier/Sales Associate serves customers, operates the register, supports sales, and helps keep the store clean, safe, and well stocked. The role includes cleaning restrooms, gas pumps, floors, windows, entryways, and outdoor areas, including the parking lot and pump area. Associates may work indoors and outdoors in all weather conditions, take trash to the dumpster, and cross-train in other departments such as deli. The position requires a friendly, detail-oriented, dependable, and flexible team member who can work on their feet for most of a shift and assist wherever needed. Full-time and part-time schedules are available.
Requirements
- Must be 21 years of age or older.
- Must be available to work weekends and holidays.
- Able to work on their feet for most of a shift and indoors and outdoors in all weather conditions.
- Able to read, write, speak, and understand English effectively.
- Basic math skills, including addition, subtraction, division, and multiplication.
- Able to frequently lift 10 pounds and occasionally lift up to 50 pounds.
- Must pass a pre-employment drug screen and be subject to a criminal history background check.
- Friendly, positive, and customer-oriented demeanor.
- Detail-oriented, punctual, trustworthy, responsible, adaptable, and willing to perform varied tasks.
Nice To Haves
- Previous retail or customer service experience is appreciated but not required.
Responsibilities
- Greet customers and operate the register accurately and efficiently.
- Handle lottery, cigarette, and alcohol sales while following age-verification rules and legal requirements.
- Provide friendly customer service and upsell when appropriate.
- Clean and maintain indoor and outdoor store areas, including restrooms, gas pumps, floors, windows, entryways, and the parking lot.
- Take trash to the dumpster in varying weather conditions.
- Stock shelves, coolers, and displays to keep merchandise presentable and full.
- Cross-train in other departments, including deli, as needed.
- Follow safety procedures and company policies.
- Support the team and help where needed.
