About The Position

The Cashier/Sales Associate helps keep the store clean, inviting, safe, and running smoothly while providing customer service and operating the register. The role includes sales of lottery tickets, cigarettes, and alcohol in compliance with age-verification and legal requirements, as well as offering friendly service and upselling where appropriate. The associate maintains clean and organized indoor and outdoor areas, including restrooms, gas pumps, store floors, windows, entryways, and the parking lot. Duties also include stocking merchandise, taking trash to the dumpster in all weather, cross-training in other departments such as deli, and helping the team wherever needed. The position requires working on your feet for most of the shift and being comfortable working indoors and outdoors in all weather conditions. Full-time and part-time schedules are available.

Requirements

Must be at least 18 years old.
Must be available to work weekends and holidays.
Must be willing to work hard and remain on your feet for most of the shift.
Must be comfortable working indoors and outdoors in all weather conditions.
Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English effectively.
Basic math skills, including addition, subtraction, division, and multiplication.
Ability to frequently lift 10 pounds and occasionally lift up to 50 pounds.
Must pass a pre-employment drug screen and be subject to a criminal history background check.
Friendly, positive demeanor and ability to make customers feel welcome.
Attention to detail.
Punctual, trustworthy, reliable, and responsible.
Adaptability and willingness to take on a variety of tasks in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

Greet customers and operate the register accurately and quickly.
Handle lottery, cigarette, and alcohol sales while complying with age-verification and legal requirements.
Provide friendly customer service and upsell when possible.
Keep the store’s interior and exterior clean and safe, including deep-cleaning restrooms, sanitizing gas pumps, and picking up litter.
Take trash to the dumpster in all kinds of weather.
Stock shelves, coolers, and displays.
Sweep, mop, clean windows, and maintain entryways and general store organization.
Cross-train in other departments, including deli, as needed.
Follow safety procedures and company policies.
Help team members and step in wherever needed.
