About The Position

The Cashier/Sales Associate serves customers, operates the register, supports sales, and helps keep the store clean, safe, stocked, and running smoothly. The role involves cleaning both indoor and outdoor areas—including restrooms, gas pumps, entryways, and the parking lot—and taking out trash in all weather conditions. Associates may be cross-trained in other departments, including the deli, and are expected to follow safety procedures, company policies, and applicable legal requirements for age-restricted sales. Full-time and part-time schedules are available.

Requirements

Must be at least 18 years old.
Must be available to work weekends and holidays.
Must be willing to work on their feet for most of a shift and work indoors and outdoors in all weather conditions.
Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand English effectively.
Must have basic addition, subtraction, division, and multiplication skills.
Must be able to frequently lift 10 pounds and occasionally lift up to 50 pounds.
Must pass a pre-employment drug screen and be subject to a criminal history background check.
Friendly, positive, detail-oriented, reliable, responsible, and adaptable approach to work.

Nice To Haves

Previous retail or customer service experience is appreciated but not required.

Responsibilities

Greet customers and operate the register accurately and efficiently.
Handle lottery, cigarette, and alcohol sales in compliance with age-verification and legal requirements.
Provide friendly customer service and upsell when appropriate.
Clean and maintain indoor and outdoor store areas, including restrooms, gas pumps, floors, windows, entryways, and the parking lot.
Take trash to the dumpster in all kinds of weather.
Stock shelves, coolers, and displays.
Cross-train in other departments, including the deli, as needed.
Follow safety procedures and company policies.
Support coworkers and help wherever needed.
