Cashier/Sales Associate - Store 5106
About The Position
The Cashier/Sales Associate helps keep the store clean, inviting, safe, and running smoothly while providing friendly customer service. The role includes operating the register, handling regulated lottery, cigarette, and alcohol sales in compliance with age-verification and legal requirements, and offering customers additional products when appropriate. Associates stock merchandise and maintain cleanliness inside and outside the store, including restrooms, gas pumps, entryways, and the parking lot. Team members may cross-train in other departments, including the deli, and help wherever needed.
Requirements
- Must be at least 18 years old.
- Must be available to work weekends and holidays.
- Must be comfortable working indoors and outdoors in all weather conditions and standing for most of a shift.
- Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand English effectively.
- Basic math skills, including addition, subtraction, division, and multiplication.
- Must be able to frequently lift 10 pounds and occasionally lift up to 50 pounds.
- Must pass a pre-employment drug screen and be subject to a criminal history background check.
- Friendly, positive demeanor and ability to make customers feel welcome.
- Attention to detail.
- Punctuality, trustworthiness, and a responsible approach to work.
- Adaptability and readiness to perform varied tasks in a fast-paced environment.

- Previous retail or customer service experience is appreciated but not required.
Responsibilities
- Greet customers and operate the register accurately and efficiently.
- Handle lottery, cigarette, and alcohol sales while following age-verification and legal requirements.
- Provide friendly customer service and upsell when possible.
- Deep-clean restrooms and keep the store interior and exterior clean and safe.
- Wipe down and sanitize gas pumps, including nozzles, screens, and water buckets.
- Pick up litter and trash from floors and the lot, and take trash to the dumpster in all weather conditions.
- Stock shelves, coolers, and displays to keep merchandise fresh and full.
- Sweep, mop, clean windows, and maintain entryways and general store organization.
- Cross-train in other departments, including deli, as needed.
- Follow safety procedures and company policies.
- Help teammates and step in wherever needed.
