About The Position

Canisius High School is seeking a Cashier/Prep to join the Personal Touch Food Service team. This part-time position involves accurately accounting for money collected for food products and meal plans, opening the cafeteria, and performing some food preparation tasks. The role requires excellent customer service, basic math skills, and the ability to work at a moderate to fast pace in a team-oriented environment.

Responsibilities

Accurately account for the collection of monies in payment of food products and meal plans.
Open cafeteria and perform some prep duties.
Verify the cash drawer amount at the beginning and end of each shift.
Check daily specials or price changes with the Unit/Food Service Manager.
Accurately ring all food and beverage items into the register.
Receive payments from customers and count back correct change.
Count money and total checks in the cash drawer at shift end (at some locations).
Assist with food service tasks including restocking items, cleaning tables and equipment, and other assigned duties.
Maintain a clean and organized cashier station, ensuring all supplies are stocked.
Provide excellent customer service by addressing customer inquiries and resolving issues promptly.
Follow all safety and sanitation guidelines to ensure a safe and clean work environment.
Participate in team meetings and training sessions to stay updated on company policies and procedures.
Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth operation of the food service area.
Monitor and report any discrepancies in the cash drawer to the supervisor immediately.
Assist with the setup and teardown of service areas, ensuring all equipment is properly sanitized.
Assume other related duties as assigned by the Food Service Manager and Cook Manager.
