About The Position

A Cashier/Food Prep greets customers, takes orders, prepares food, handles payments, and thanks customers while ensuring a safe, clean, and efficient operation. This role involves adhering to company core values, policies, and procedures, acting as a role model, and maintaining a positive and respectful attitude towards customers and co-workers. Consistency in reporting to work on time and being prepared for duties is expected.

Requirements

  • Must possess basic mathematical skill (able to add, subtract, multiply and divide).
  • Must pass a pre-employment alcohol/drug screening.
  • Obtain and maintain a Serv-Safe Certification within 90 days of employment and/or transfer.

Nice To Haves

  • High School Diploma or GED preferred.
  • Some experience in fast food environment and cash handling preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Communicate special menu items or specials to customers, take orders to customer specifications.
  • Cook/prepare food orders.
  • Deliver food/drink orders.
  • Replenish condiments as needed.
  • Maintain beverage area, brew coffee.
  • Maintain cleanliness of service/dining areas.
  • Maintain high cleanliness and sanitation standards in accordance with Food Systems Food Safety & Sanitation guidelines and the HACCP System.
  • Ensure that product quality standards are met through proper food preparation and prepare food products to proper specifications.
  • Operate a point of sale system/cash register without variance, including maintaining change in cash drawer, accepting payments, calculating discounts, ensuring proper identification for certain transactions, counting money, returning correct change, issuing receipts, balancing cash drawer and receipts, keeping the register area neat, clean and stocked, and documenting discrepancies.
  • Follow directions and perform work independently.
  • Ensure product is stocked and rotated to ensure proper expiration dates, and ensure product is displayed in an organized manner.
  • Promote brands/products to increase sales.
  • Act with urgency at all times to minimize wait times; maintain a quick and purposeful pace.
  • Build relationships and loyalty with guests through sincere and meaningful interactions, learning guests’ names and preferences, connecting with them individually and professionally, smiling, making eye contact and verbally greeting guests from arrival to the property through departure, and providing fast and friendly service to guests.
  • Be a team player by working toward team goals, fostering a collaborative and positive work environment, putting the team first, assisting coworkers, treating all coworkers with kindness, courtesy and respect, never engaging in negativity, maintaining openness to coaching, learning and improving, and being receptive to change and willingness to embrace challenges with team-spirit.
  • Develop a thorough knowledge of services, room locations, amenities, surroundings, providing accurate directions, and information for guest inquiries about promotions and special events.
  • Maintain a courteous, positive and professional working relationship with all LDC personnel and the general public (e.g., coworkers, clients and vendors).
  • Perform additional duties and responsibilities as necessary or assigned.
