About The Position

The Cashier/Dispatcher role involves directing patrons, managing parking spaces, issuing tickets, collecting payments (cash or credit card), processing exception transactions, and providing receipts. The role also requires completing daily shift paperwork, maintaining a clean workspace, and delivering excellent customer service according to company standards. Additionally, the Dispatcher component is responsible for coordinating, scheduling, deploying, and dispatching services in a safe and efficient manner, acting as a central control for vehicle communications, trip routing, and emergency situations. This includes monitoring on-time performance, documenting no-shows, meeting with account managers to discuss KPIs, promoting teamwork, coordinating problem resolution, communicating directions via radio, monitoring operator sign-in/sign-out, and documenting service disruptions. The role may also require driving in service when needed and ensuring accurate assignment of vehicles and operators.

Requirements

  • Must Have: Drivers License 2+ years
  • Do you have cash handling experience?
  • Do you have customer service experience?
  • You are at least 18 years old.
  • High School degree preferred.
  • One year of related experience with cash handling.
  • Ability to read, comprehend, and communicate effectively both verbally and through written correspondence.
  • Ability to safely drive a standard or automatic transmission vehicle.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to maintain a professional and friendly demeanor when working with other employees and the parking customer.
  • Ability to provide customer resolution in a professional and friendly manner.

Responsibilities

  • Direct patrons where to park and assist when spaces are full.
  • Verify necessary supplies at the start of each shift.
  • Issue tickets to customers, recording the required information on each ticket.
  • Collect payment credit card or validation always securing cash according to the company’s standard operating procedures.
  • Process exception transactions (e.g., lost tickets, grace period tickets, etc.) according to company policy, including completing the applicable form.
  • Provide a receipt for all fee transactions.
  • Complete the daily shift paperwork by recording the number of transactions by parking rate, number of vehicles in and out of the facility, number of contract parkers, vehicles left in the facility, number of validated tickets and exception tickets.
  • Provide the company’s standards of service with each customer including maintaining the required uniform appearance, stating the company greeting, answering questions, resolving issues and thanking each customer upon exit.
  • May be asked by local management to complete small cleaning or maintenance tasks according to the company’s maintenance checklists.
  • Other special projects as assigned by location management.
  • Leads and directs shuttles, accountable based on assigned duties and tasks as directed.
  • Serves as central control for day-to-day vehicle communications, trip routing, and handling emergency situations.
  • Diligently monitors shuttles to include on time performance, vehicle pull-outs, and properly documents rider no-shows.
  • Meets with the account manager on a regular basis to discuss KPI’s goals and objectives for the department, and ensure that goals are being met or exceeded.
  • Promotes a teamwork environment and effective communication between Dispatchers, Supervisors, and Operators.
  • Coordinate problem resolution among Operators, Supervisors, and Public.
  • Communicate clear direction and response over radio with operators and supervisors utilizing established radio codes.
  • Influences positive employee morale and quality customer service.
  • Monitors operator sign-in and sign-out utilizing computer-aided dispatching and routing tools.
  • May be required to drive in service when required.
  • Provides superior customer service and communications skills.
  • Documents service disruption issues utilizing the dispatch log.
  • Ensures accurate assignment of vehicles and Operators.
  • Ability to follow company and agency policies and procedures.
  • Other duties as assigned or requested.
