About The Position

The Marketplace Cashier/Cook is responsible for providing excellent guest service by accurately and efficiently processing guest's food & beverage preparation and purchases. This role ensures compliance with applicable Tribal, Federal and other laws and gaming regulations and Kickapoo Lucky Eagle policies and procedures. The position maintains the highest possible standards of guest services by properly listening and responding to guest and team member concerns and questions. The Cashier/Cook greets guests, efficiently processes food and beverage orders and purchases through the Point of Sale (POS) System, and maintains accountability and security of their individual cash drawer. They are responsible for stocking and cleaning their workstation/venue to ensure presentable products and collecting appropriate guest payment for food and beverage service. Additionally, the role involves preparing food as needed in the quick service kitchens, maintaining a professional and tidy appearance, and communicating in a positive, respectful manner. Building and maintaining knowledge of food & beverage offerings is crucial to answer questions appropriately and accurately. The position requires excellent attendance and availability for events and varied schedules based on business needs. The Cashier/Cook must also manage and maintain the security of confidential information, attend and complete all required training, and monitor compliance with Federal currency transaction reporting requirements, Title 31 requirements, IRS Currency Transaction Reports, and property-established Anti-Money Laundering policies, maintaining accurate MTL, MIL, CTR, and SAR as needed. The essential functions are a general representation and may change based on organizational needs.

Requirements

  • Must have a High School Diploma, G.E.D or related food service job experience.
  • Strong communication skills in English both written and oral.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to maintain effective relationships with the General Manager, Directors, Managers and all staff.
  • Ability to work under pressure in a fast paced, event-driven, stressful environment.
  • Ability to meet multiple deadlines and multi-task.
  • Ability to have strong critical thinking, analytical and guest service skills.
  • Must possess a positive attitude with strong organizational and leadership qualities.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure.

  • Must be able to obtain and retain a KTTT Gaming Commission License, including successful completion of background check necessary to obtain and maintain license.
  • Responsible to keep all documents current and valid at all times.
  • Must be able to provide authorization to work in the United States.
  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Must have access to reliable transportation to commute to and from work.
  • Must comply with KLEC handbook, internal policy and procedures, and gaming regulations set within KLEC.
  • Must acquire and maintain a valid Health Food Handlers Card, Alcohol Awareness Certification, Suspicious Activity, Cash Handling, and other required compliance trainings.
  • Must participate in tip reporting program.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience working in a fast-paced, high volume fine dining, casual, and/or nightclub preferred.
  • Wine and alcohol knowledge preferred.
  • Spanish or other language skills a plus.
