Bunkhouse Burgers is hiring cashiers and cooks to round out our stellar crew! POSITION SUMMARY As the face of the Joint, cashiers provide fast, friendly, and accurate services for our customers through our POS system. Accuracy and basic math skills are important, as someone in this position will be handling payments in the form of cash and providing change. Knowledge of restaurant products is essential, as the cashier will be responsible for assisting our customers with questions and suggestions. Cashiers will also be responsible for keeping work area neat and tidy, restocking and preparing items as needed, and cleaning lobby and dining areas.

Requirements

  • 1-2 years prior cashier experience in a fast-paced environment preferred
  • Ability to handle stress under pressure
  • Basic math and calculation skills
  • Basic knowledge of POS systems
  • Positive attitude and ability to work as part of a team

Responsibilities

  • Greeting and acknowledging every customer
  • Providing excellent customer service by being fast, patient, attentive, and using clear and positive communication
  • Maintaining thorough knowledge of products
  • Upselling when appropriate or requested by management
  • Accurately and efficiently completing all sales transactions
  • Maintaining proper cash and media accountabilities at POS registers
  • Ensuring cash drawer is balanced at the end of shift
  • Calling out customers’ orders when they have been completed
  • Keeping work area neat and clean, restocking items as needed, and cleaning lobby and dining areas
  • Preparing food and beverage items as needed
  • Inventorying supplies and goods
  • Handling customer concerns and finding a solution or when appropriate bringing in a manager
  • Communicating customers’ requests to management
  • Troubleshooting POS problems
  • Performing other duties as assigned
