About The Position

Smoky Mountain Guns & Ammo is looking for a dependable, customer-focused Cashier / Background Check Associate to join our retail team. This position is responsible for providing excellent customer service at the checkout counter, accurately processing purchases, and assisting with the required paperwork and background-check process for firearm transactions in accordance with company policies and applicable laws.

Ability to assist with returns, exchanges, transfers, and other customer-service needs
Ability to keep checkout and customer-service areas clean, organized, and presentable
Ability to assist the sales team with general retail duties
Ability to work as part of a team

Responsibilities

Greet customers and provide friendly, professional service.
Operate the cash register and POS system accurately.

Follow all company procedures and applicable federal, state, and local requirements regarding firearm transactions.
Verify required identification and documentation according to company procedures.
Maintain accuracy and confidentiality when handling customer information.
Assist with returns, exchanges, transfers, and other customer-service needs as directed.
Keep the checkout and customer-service areas clean, organized, and presentable.
Assist the sales team with general retail duties when needed.
Work as part of a team to provide a positive customer experience.
Perform other duties as assigned by management.
