About The Position

The Cash Poster is responsible for the daily data entry of receipts and adjustments into multiple HER systems, including EPIC, Medent, and MatrixCare. This role involves correctly assigning payment, adjustment, and denial reasons as reported by third-party payers, posting electronic remittances, and following up with third-party payers for payments received that are intended for other entities. The ideal candidate is an energetic individual with knowledge of hospital patient account billing and billing compliance, a willingness to learn, and a pursuit of excellence.

Requirements

• Computer literacy
• Excellent Customer Service
• Skills in using computers including Excel and Work required.
• Skills in using web-based financial applications.

• Demonstrated knowledge in billing compliance both federal and state.
• A willingness to learn and pursue excellence is necessary.
• Associates Degree preferred or 3 years work related experience required.
• 2 to 3 years of medical billing/posting experience preferred.
• Excellent public/patient relations and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Data entry of receipts and adjustments on a daily basis in multiple HER systems including but not limited to EPIC, Medent, and MatrixCare that are received from patients and third-party payers.
• Correctly assigns payment, adjustment and denial reasons as reported by third party payers.
• Post electronic remittance.
• Follow up with third party payers for payments received that are paid to UR Medicine Affiliate Billing Office for patients that are not ours.
