About The Position

Definiti is a national retirement services company that helps clients manage and administer their retirement plans. We help clients define what's possible and what’s next for their retirement plans. The Cash Applications Specialist applies customer payments accurately and timely across multiple payment methods while ensuring customer accounts reflect correct balances. This role researches payment discrepancies, processes custodial payments, and supports reconciliation activities. The ideal candidate is proactive, with strong attention to detail, accuracy, and completeness, wants to be part of a growing collaborative team, and is motivated by a positive environment. Strong attention to detail, analytical skills, and Excel experience are essential.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED required
• 1 Year of Billing/Accounting experience and/or industry experience required
• Proficient with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word)

Nice To Haves

• Associate degree or higher preferred
• ERP system experience preferred, Sage Intacct desired
• Familiarity with Microsoft Teams is a plus

Responsibilities

• Execute accurate and timely application of customer payments across multiple payment methods, including checks, credit cards, ACH, and custodial sources with moderate complexity.
• Apply judgment when processing custodial payments across multiple account structures in accordance with established guidelines.
• Investigate and resolve unapplied, unidentified, or misapplied payments by analyzing remittance and bank data.
• Ensure completeness and accuracy of payment posting to support month-end and ongoing bank reconciliations.
• Collaborate with Billing and Accounting by supporting vendor setup, refunds, and payment reporting, utilizing Excel for tracking and analysis.
