About The Position

Center for Human Development, CHD, is currently seeking a Caseworker to join Foster Care Program in West Springfield, MA! Your role as a Caseworker: Provide casework to foster children and foster families to children 0-18, involved with DCF Have knowledge of child and adolescent development, trauma treatment models and behavioral interventions Ability to respond effectively in crisis situations and to demonstrate client-advocacy skills and can establish positive working relationships with community resources and funding sources Creating and updating treatment plans, discharge summaries and transition plans for youth Strong flexibility skills for working in a program where change is dynamic and fluid Commitment to working in a team model and a willingness to share multiple roles within the team AT CENTER FOR HUMAN DEVELOPMENT (CHD), Care Finds a Way: The Center for Human Development (CHD) provides a broad range of high quality, community-oriented human services dedicated to promoting, enhancing, and protecting the dignity and welfare of people in need. Requirements

  • Ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's Degree in Human Services or LSWA, LSW required
  • Strong interpersonal skills, empathy for others, demonstrated commitment to serving those with significant needs
  • Must have good writing and communication skills, and excellent interpersonal skills
  • Must be at least 21 years of age and have a vehicle for work use and current driver's license; a willingness to occasionally transport program participants in own vehicle
