Our Services for People with Disabilities team is searching for a dedicated, compassionate hourly part-time (10-23 hrs/week or 24-29 hrs/wk) Caseworker in the Ames & surrounding area. (Story, Boone, Marshall and/or Hardin counties) Work 1:1 with people with disabilities and/or chronic mental health conditions to learn life skills to help them become more independent and live life with dignity. As one of Iowa's most trusted human services agencies, LSI has a legacy of serving children, adults, and families for more than 160 years. Our Services for People with Disabilities care for individuals across the state, from providing occasional respite care or weekly services, to 24/7 support in either a shared apartment environment or one-on-one care through our hourly supported community living (SCL) program. Requirements

Bachelor's Degree (BA/BS in human services, education, or human services related field. One year of related experience is preferred.) OR Bachelor's Degree (BA/BS) in Non-human services and 1 year of human services related experience. OR AA Degree with 2 years of human services experience. OR High school diploma/GED with 4 years of human services experience.
Valid driver's license
Auto insurance
Good driving record
Ability to pass an extensive background check including checks of the Dependent Adult and Child Abuse registries, Sex Offender registry and a criminal history check.

Responsibilities

Work 1:1 with people with disabilities and/or chronic mental health conditions to learn life skills to help them become more independent and live life with dignity.
Provide support, assistance, and instruction in learning independent living skills like: Money management, Socialization, Cooking, Personal hygiene.
Encourage individuals to be involved in their community.
Learn the basics of outcome-based performance measures.
Help develop Individualized Service Plans that are reflective of the personal goals each of our individuals have.
