About The Position

LSI is seeking dedicated, compassionate hourly part-time Caseworkers in the Dubuque area to join their Services for People with Disabilities team. The Iowans served are seeking a life of greater confidence and independence, and LSI's mission is to empower them toward success. LSI has a legacy of serving children, adults, and families for over 160 years. Their Services for People with Disabilities program provides wrap-around care, from occasional respite to 24/7 support through the Supported Community Living (SCL) program. This role offers the opportunity to make a direct impact on the lives of individuals with intellectual disabilities or chronic mental illness.

Requirements

Bachelor's Degree (BA/BS) in human services, education, or human services related field with one year of related experience preferred.
Bachelor's Degree (BA/BS) in a non-human services field with 1 year of human services related experience.
AA Degree with 2 years of human services experience.
High school diploma/GED with 4 years of human services experience.
Some basic computer skills.
Valid driver's license.
Auto insurance.
Good driving record.
Ability to pass an extensive background check including checks of the Dependent Adult and Child Abuse registries, Sex Offender registry and a criminal history check.

Responsibilities

Provide support, assistance, and instruction in learning independent living skills such as money management, socialization, and cooking.
Encourage individuals to be involved in their community.
Develop Individualized Service Plans that are functional and reflective of personal goals.
Work with children and adults with intellectual disabilities or chronic mental illness.
Take clients out into the community.
