About The Position

This is a grant-funded position, and employment is contingent upon continued funding. Performs moderately complex (journey-level) casework. Facilitates chemical dependency education in a group or individual setting. Work involves serving as a liaison between clients and their families in obtaining assistance and rehabilitative treatment. Works under general supervision with limited latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgment. This is a grant funded position, and employment is contingent upon future grant funding.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in behavioral sciences with an emphasis in chemical dependency.
Licensure as an LCDC required
One year of experience in the chemical dependency field
Must have and maintain a valid drivers’ license with an acceptable driving record.
Regular attendance and reliability is critical to business operations.

Responsibilities

Conduct substance use screenings, comprehensive assessments, and chemical dependency evaluations.
Develop individualized, person-centered treatment plans.
Provide individual and group counseling using Motivational Interviewing, CBT approaches, relapse prevention, stages of change, and harm reduction principles.
Provide psychoeducation related to addiction, recovery, medications, coping skills, and wellness.
Provide crisis intervention and de-escalation.
Monitor withdrawal symptoms and collaborate with medical providers.
Participate in multidisciplinary treatment planning.
Coordinate discharge planning and continuity of care.
Coordinate behavioral health, medical, substance use, housing, employment, benefits, and recovery support referrals.
Maintain communication with community providers.
Monitor progress toward recovery goals.
Complete documentation within required timeframes.
Maintain compliance with HHSC, Medicaid, HIPAA, TAC, and agency standards.
Complete treatment plans, progress notes, discharge summaries, and assessments.
Participate in quality assurance activities.
Maintain a safe, trauma-informed therapeutic environment.
Conduct ongoing risk assessments.
Support stabilization and recovery-focused interventions.
Collaborate with nursing and psychiatric providers.
Mentor newly hired clinical staff.
Assist with orientation and onboarding.
Provide guidance to other treatment team members on SUD related treatment regarding participant’s recovery.
Model best practices in documentation and engagement.
Support staff competency development and teamwork.
