About The Position

Boston Neurobehavioral Associates, established in 1998, provides comprehensive outpatient behavioral health and psychiatric care to all ages across multiple states. Led by Mohammad Munir, MD, the team of diverse medical professionals collaborates to offer well-rounded, individualized care for a broad range of mental disorders and emotional difficulties. The practice focuses on accurate diagnosis and integrative treatment plans tailored to each patient's unique needs, addressing conditions such as depression, bipolar disorder, anxiety, insomnia, ADHD, and OCD. Their mission is to spread awareness about mental health stigma by providing high-quality, accessible psychiatric care, dedicated to meeting professional expectations and improving patient quality of life. This role is for a Case Manager within the Interventional Psychiatry Program.

Requirements

  • 1+ years of behavioral health case management experience, ideally within an intensive outpatient program (IOP), hospital, or specialized neuromodulation clinic.
  • Comprehensive understanding of treatment-resistant mental health conditions, clinical rating scales (e.g., PHQ-9, GAD-7), strict HIPAA compliance, and insurance authorization workflows.

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Social Work (BSW/MSW) preferred

Responsibilities

  • Conduct initial psychosocial and clinical intake screenings to determine patient readiness for advanced interventional procedures.
  • Educate patients and families on procedural timelines, safety protocols, side effects, and expected outcomes.
  • Coordinate scheduling across multidisciplinary teams, including interventional psychiatrists, nurse practitioners, and recovery staff.
  • Build and track customized, individualized care plans for patients navigating treatment-resistant depression, PTSD, or OCD.
  • Conduct weekly check-ins with patients to evaluate safety, measure progress, and identify any barriers to treatment.
  • Deliver vital crisis intervention and safety planning for high-risk patients experiencing acute psychiatric distress.
  • Compile detailed clinical documentation required to secure prior authorizations for high-cost interventional therapies.
  • Manage the appeals process for insurance denials by working directly with payers and providing necessary utilization reviews.
  • Link patients to financial assistance programs, manufacturer savings cards, or external community resources when necessary.
  • Formulate robust longitudinal aftercare plans once an intensive interventional treatment series concludes.
  • Connect discharging patients back to community outpatient psychiatrists, therapists, and support networks to prevent relapse.
