About The Position

Recovery Network of Programs, Inc. (RNP), is a private, non-profit, social service agency serving the Greater Bridgeport Community and Fairfield County since 1972. RNP is dedicated to helping individuals with substance use, mental health disorders, and homelessness, aiming to restore hope, health, and wellbeing. The Tina Klem Serenity House program is a recovery house for 12 women with co-occurring substance abuse and psychiatric disorders, who may also have a history of trauma. Residents participate in various psycho-educational groups covering life skills, parenting, employment search, anger management, relapse prevention, health and wellness, safety, and coping skills.

Requirements

  • Bachelors degree in the behavioral sciences and two (2) years experience in counseling preferred or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Co-occurring competencies and/or credentials are preferred.
  • Knowledge of principles and techniques of social service case management.
  • Knowledge of the physical, psychological, social, and economic effects of substance abuse, mental health, and trauma.
  • Ability to gather, analyze, and evaluate information pertinent to the provision of quality case management.
  • Knowledge of community resources.
  • Considerable knowledge of federal and state laws and regulations regarding client confidentiality.
  • Ability to establish and maintain cooperative professional relationships.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Ability to project a professional image.
  • Valid Connecticut drivers license is required.

Nice To Haves

  • Incumbents may be encouraged to secure professional certification (e.g. CAC and/or SCCD).

Responsibilities

  • Assess and record medical, psychological, and social factors contributing to individuals' circumstances, including strengths, needs, abilities, and preferences.
  • Plan and record individual progress regarding finances, employment, nutrition, basic needs, housing, physical and mental health, well-being, and substance use disorders.
  • Assertively link individuals to community resources and natural supports.
  • Serve as an advocate for clients in obtaining necessary services.
  • Attend and actively participate in case management and treatment team meetings.
  • Record and monitor recovery plans and perform follow-up to determine service quantity and quality.
  • Facilitate weekly groups.
  • Adhere to RNP standards of documentation.
  • Compile, prepare, and submit reports in a timely manner.
  • Assume other appropriate duties as deemed necessary by the supervisor.
