About The Position

Provide substance abuse counseling services to clients at the reintegration level in accordance with OASAS and Agency rules and regulations.

Requirements

• A valid NYS driver license and clean driving record.
• CASAC-T, CASAC-P or other CASAC Credential required.
• A minimum of an Associates Degree in Psychology, Social work or Chemical Dependency Counseling or a related field.
• At minimum of one (1) year counseling experience in a substance abuse facility; preferably in a residential program serving chemically dependent adults or related education/experience.

Responsibilities

• Carries a caseload of up to 15 clients involving coordination, development, and implementation of treatment plans.
• Prepares and maintains case records for individual residents, stating goals, objectives, and time frame for completion.
• Develops Initial Service Plan within 72 hours of client admission.
• Provides support to residents including motivation, support and encouragement for client goals.
• Monitors clients for medical, mental health, safety and security issues.
• Works cooperatively with the Program Manager to meet the treatment needs of each client.
• Monitors client medication schedules, following program procedure and protocols.
• Orients residents upon admission to rules and regulations of Residence and/or Supportive Living Programs.
• Collects urine drugs screens and breathalyzer testing for clients.
• Participates in weekly Case Conferences, staff meetings, and resident meetings including Team meetings.
• Required to work a flexible work schedule to maintain required staffing.
• Other duties as assigned by Program Manager.
