About The Position

Founded after World War II to address humanitarian needs in war-torn Europe, World Relief has spent 80 years working in 100 countries to foster thriving families and flourishing communities. Current programming includes humanitarian and disaster response, community strengthening and resilience, and refugee & immigrant services and advocacy. This Case Manager role is crucial for providing essential services to newly arrived immigrants under the PIR program and vulnerable immigrants under the PC program. This is a hybrid role, requiring 4 days in the office and offering 1 day of remote work.

  • Valid driver's license, access to reliable vehicle and ability to pass MVR standards
  • Experience in case management, health education, or related fields required
  • Highly organized, with the ability to manage multiple cases simultaneously and prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Strong understanding of the challenges faced by refugees and immigrants, including trauma-informed care and cultural sensitivity.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to clearly convey information to clients, colleagues, and external partners.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, including empathy, active listening, and conflict resolution.
  • Fluency in English required

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with refugee or vulnerable populations preferred
  • Proficiency in a second language like Spanish, Arabic, Swahili, Spanish or others highly desirable
  • Degree in Social Work, Public Health, or similar field.
  • Cross-cultural experience.
  • Bilingual in any of the following languages: Arabic, Swahili, Spanish, French, Kareni, Burmese, Pashto, Dari.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct airport pickups and extend warm receptions to newly arrived immigrant households.
  • Coordinate permanent housing placements, including organizing full home setups and basic needs provisioning.
  • Assist clients with filing applications for Social Security cards, state identification, and eligible mainstream public benefits.
  • Schedule and coordinate with local health departments to ensure completion of required refugee health assessments.
  • Facilitate school enrollment and orientation for school-aged children.
  • Screen clients and issue referrals to specialized internal programs (Preferred Communities, Matching Grant, ESL, ILS) and external community resources.
  • Provide high-touch, specialized case management tailored to the unique needs of particularly vulnerable immigrant individuals and families.
  • Conduct comprehensive strength and needs assessments to identify client barriers and goals.
  • Collaborate directly with clients to co-create, implement, and monitor personalized self-sufficiency plans with actionable milestones.
  • Manage clients throughout the entire PC service period, maintaining regular check-ins and progress evaluations.
  • Ensure strict grant and regulatory compliance through timely, accurate, and thorough case documentation and file tracking.
  • Work closely with the Programs Manager and program staff to streamline client service delivery across department lines.
  • Partner with the Volunteer Coordinator to engage, train, and leverage volunteers or community groups for housing setups and client support.
  • Deliver holistic, wrap-around care by connecting clients to wrap-around community services and advocacy networks.
  • Assure all compliance measures are strictly maintained across PIR and PC programming and service delivery.
  • Ensure data collection and outcome tracking are conducted in a timely, accurate, and effective manner for reporting and evaluation.
