About The Position

The Case Manager Job Developer plays a crucial role in supporting clients to achieve sustainable employment by building strong relationships with employers and facilitating job opportunities that align with clients' skills and aspirations. This position involves strategic outreach to employers, on-site training, and developing tailored employment plans while ensuring ongoing support for both clients and employers. The role requires a proactive and results-oriented approach to meet performance goals and contribute to the success of employment programs.

Requirements

  • Post-secondary education in Business, Marketing, or a related field or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum two years of experience in counselling, file management, group facilitation, or job coaching is preferred.
  • Access to a motor vehicle is required for this position, as extensive travel within the region is required.
  • Ability to provide excellent service delivery.
  • Demonstrated ability to thrive in a results-oriented role and the ability to motivate and inspire self and others.
  • Well-developed interpersonal and relationship-building skills, with the ability to establish rapport and communicate effectively with members, staff, and volunteers.
  • Excellent written communication skills.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including days, evenings, and weekends.
  • Excellent understanding of diversity, inclusion, and equity, including the ability to identify and address barriers to employment, work effectively with diverse stakeholders, and integrate equity into program design.

  • Job offers are contingent on the successful completion of a Police Records Check. Within the first four months and every three years thereafter, a Vulnerable Police Records Check is required.

Responsibilities

  • Develop strategies and timelines for individual clients to achieve goals and solve obstacles or challenges with respect to sustainable employment.
  • Ensure self-management of program targets related to employment program delivery and funder expectations. Complete and maintain client files as per funder and YMCA quality standards.
  • Engage employers through targeted emails, proactive cold calling, and in-person site visits. Identify job placement opportunities and build relationships with prospective employers in industries and labor markets aligned with clients' interests. Maintain consistent outreach to expand employer partnerships.
  • Record and report services using an electronic tracking system. Maintain and update client information and outcomes in the database.
  • Host virtual or in-person job fairs to connect clients with employment opportunities.
  • Understand clients' skills, abilities, and areas of interest to facilitate job placements.
  • Negotiate with employers’ incentives and direct job matches.
  • Follow up with individual clients to track 1, 3, 6, and 12-month outcomes, ensuring proper documentation of employment success.
  • Develop and monitor training plans and agreements with clients and employers. Offer career development and support to ensure clients and employers receive assistance for success.
  • Act as a liaison between clients and employers. Ensure placements go smoothly and provide immediate support for clients at risk of losing their job.
  • Spend time on the job with clients, provide on-site training, and support job performance requirements, including helping clients develop appropriate workplace behaviors and attitudes.
  • Facilitate employer-related workshops for clients, promoting job readiness and employer engagement.
  • Use a consistent intake tool and approach to assess individuals' Employment Service and Life Stabilization service needs.
  • Contribute to monthly individual and team Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) by prioritizing and managing tasks effectively.
  • Prepare case management documentation and case notes. Handle confidential data and ensure quality assurance in accordance with YMCA and funder standards.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
