Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in social work, psychology, or a related field
  • At least one year of experience in case management or counseling with children and families
  • Drug and alcohol programs require one year of specific drug and alcohol experience
  • At least three written references demonstrating past educational or employment experience
  • Must be at least 21 years of age
  • Valid Pennsylvania driver's license with a clean driving record and proof of insurance
  • PA Act 33/34 clearances and DPW FBI clearance
  • Pre-employment physical confirming ability to perform essential job functions
  • Flexibility to work a schedule that meets the needs of the people we serve
  • Must meet all federal employment eligibility verification requirements

Responsibilities

  • Completing intakes for new clients, gathering documentation, and facilitating individualized service plans
  • Having face to face contact with each child and foster family at least biweekly
  • Maintaining weekly phone contact with each child's referring agency to provide updates
  • Orienting new youth and families to SafeGuards programming
  • Transporting clients to home visits and other locations as needed
  • Coordinating and writing ongoing service plans
  • Providing crisis intervention services when needed
  • Facilitating social skills groups on occasion
  • Maintaining client files in compliance with agency policy, HIPAA standards, and confidentiality requirements
  • Representing the agency at court hearings and interagency meetings
  • Staying current on all required training and reporting completion to your Program Manager
  • Actively participating in our Sanctuary Model, a trauma informed framework built around safety, emotional intelligence, open communication, and the belief that growth and change are always possible
