About The Position

This posting is for an existing vacancy for a Temporary Part Time Case Manager/Case Worker position at Good Shepherd Women's Services – West Ave. The role involves providing respectful and appropriate housing support services to residential and non-residential clients, which may include case management, crisis intervention, and supportive counseling. The incumbent must be able to work independently in a challenging and rewarding values-based environment. This position is within a residential-based program and will require lifting and cleaning.

Requirements

  • A completed post-secondary education in a related field is required
  • Applicants should possess a thorough knowledge of issues impacting cis women, trans and non-binary individuals including violence, abuse, mental illness, homelessness, poverty and substance use
  • A demonstrated commitment to the mission values of availability, flexibility, adaptability, hospitality and dignity is essential
  • CPR certification (or willingness to be certified)
  • The successful candidate will have a flexible schedule
  • Committed to anti-racist/anti-oppressive practice and to the mission and values of Good Shepherd

Nice To Haves

  • Experience working in a residential setting is preferred
  • A valid Ontario driver's license (G) is also an asset
  • Ability to speak French and/or other languages considered an asset

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain a caseload
  • Complete an intake and assessment on each resident
  • Design, implement, in consultation with supervisor, an interview schedule that will provide an evaluation of "quality of life" improvement of successful program participants
  • Maintain confidentiality with regards to clients/staff and Centre's records
  • To observe all Good Shepherd health and safety rules and work in compliance with the provisions of the Occupational Health and Safety Act and its regulations to minimize risk to clients, staff and others as well as to the property of the Good Shepherd Non-Profit Homes.
