About The Position

Meridell Achievement Center is a 134-bed, seclusion free, psychiatric residential treatment facility located northwest of Austin. Our 60-acre campus is complete with mature oaks, rolling hills, and plenty of walking paths and outdoor spaces. We have 7 unique living units separated by gender, age, and development needs with a swimming pool, gymnasium, sports court and playing fields. We provide 24-hour psychiatric care to girls and boys ages 10 to 17 years old with customized therapeutic approaches and intensive behavioral programs to teach young patients to moderate their behavior, manage emotions and improve social functioning. Meridell is looking for an experienced Case Manager to work with a supportive team and adolescent population. The case manager is responsible for working closely with the therapist(s) to coordinate services for residents within the facility and to assist with the resident’s transition from the facility. Ensures intake is completed for new admissions to include psychosocial assessments, initial treatment plans, and outcome measures. Ensures discharge planning for all residents is initiated upon admission to the facility and works closely with the therapist to ensure aftercare services are planned for in anticipation of and in advance of discharge. Works closely with Utilization Review staff and program therapists to maintain status of authorization and anticipate discharge planning needs. Completes master treatment plans for new admissions. Ensures aftercare provider appointments are secured within required timeframes. Facilitates screenings for admission to aftercare providers to include partial hospital programs, residential treatment centers, group homes, etc. Hours will be 9:00am to 5:30pm Monday through Friday.

Requirements

  • Master's degree in social work, psychology, mental health counseling or a similar educational degree required.
  • Current State of Texas license as a PhD, PsyD, LCSW, LMFT, LPC, LMSW, LMFT-A, or LPC-A, obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date
  • Current driver license.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Maintain confidentiality of patient and employee information.
  • Demonstrate effective organization.
  • Effective interpersonal skills and competent clinical skills.
  • Collaborative, positive attitude and strong work ethic.

Nice To Haves

  • Four years work experience in mental health or related field preferred.
  • Two years direct practice experience and/or clinical (graduate, continuing ed., etc.) training specific to individual, family and group therapy (if specialized issues group, training must be specific to issue).
  • One year of clinical experience in RTC setting
  • Knowledge of psychiatric patient care techniques and understanding of mental illness, preferred.
