Requirements

  • H.S. diploma or equivalent
  • 2-3 years clerical experience in a health care setting
  • Ability to use Microsoft Office
  • Ability to handle difficult calls and maintain professional conduct
  • Good communication skills

Responsibilities

  • Coordinates Medicare-related communication by delivering and documenting Important Message (IM) and Code 44 letters, obtaining required signatures, and supporting appeals processes.
  • Monitors voicemails and ensures timely follow-up.
  • Supports discharge planning by coordinating with vendors, identifying appropriate post-care services (e.g., home health, nursing facilities, hospice), verifying benefits, and communicating updates to care teams.
  • Maintains department operations by updating discharge-related systems, compiling reports and statistics, managing supplies, and providing clerical support such as meeting minutes and general administrative tasks.
