The purpose of the PRIME contract is to provide community-based, culturally responsive, and linguistically appropriate services that support refugees in gaining and using the knowledge and skills necessary to thrive in their new communities, connect to existing services and resources, promote health and well-being, and empower them to achieve successful integration, mobility, and long-term self-sufficiency in Washington State. The Case Management Assistant supports Extended Caseworkers in both administrative and direct service support to vulnerable populations, including single-headed households, survivors of domestic and gender-based violence, older refugees, and youth. The assistant works closely with staff and clients to ensure timely, effective services that promote autonomy, empowerment, and long-term stability.

Requirements

  • Undergraduate degree with an emphasis in Social Work or an equivalent field of study; equivalent experience may be substituted.
  • One to two years of relevant work experience. A significant portion of this experience should include responsibilities in social services, humanitarian relief, public service, or other not-for-profit environments.
  • Highly organized self-starter with proven success handling multiple priorities, making critical decisions, and delivering results in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines.
  • Demonstrated success achieving goals and communicating effectively a multi-cultural environment.
  • Strong communications skills, both oral and written, are required for this role.
  • Fluent in English, both spoken and written; other language ability in one of the predominant languages of the local client base preferred.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Commitment to DEI principles and an inclusive work environment.
  • Valid driver’s license, reliable vehicle with current insurance, and the ability to travel regularly throughout the service delivery area.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct a full assessment using the approved PRIME tool to identify each participant’s barriers, strengths, and needs
  • Develop and maintain an individualized, participant-centered service plan with clear goals and timelines; monitor progress regularly, update plans as needed and prepare for case closure appropriately.
  • Coordinate and follow up on referrals to both internal and external service providers to ensure services are delivered and participants are satisfied.
  • Maintain at least monthly contact with each participant to review goals and adjust plans.
  • Report outcomes according to standards, counting each active participant once per quarter and excluding results from in-house services only.
  • Provide direct assistance to participants by helping them complete applications for essential benefits (like cash, food, or medical aid), connecting them to needed services, referring them to other agencies, and teaching them how to use online systems to manage tasks independently.
  • Record all participant interactions in a tracking system noting the date, staff member, and services provided.
  • Assist in implementing workshops on preapproved topics by the contractor such as financial literacy, cultural orientation, local community resources etc.
  • Stay up to date on internal policies, procedures, and program protocols to ensure compliance.
  • Participate in team meetings, training, and case conferences to remain informed on best practices.
  • Attend all PRIME-required training and apply content in client services.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the manager or caseworker.
