Mid Cartographic Analyst
About The Position
The National Security Sector at Leidos currently has an opening for a cleared cartographic analyst to support our customer in Springfield Virginia. This is an exciting opportunity to use your experience in GIS analysis to support a dynamic national security customer. The successful candidate will work as a member of a government-contractor team providing cartographic production and analysis. The candidate should have a strong geospatial background and the ability to work independently as well as collaborate on projects. Position requires a current TS/SCI and willingness to obtain a CI Polygraph.
Requirements
- Requires 5 points of relevant background either one or the other: ( High School AND 5 years’ [relevant military or full time geospatial professional] experience, or High School and 4 years + GPC level I and II, or relevant BS degree + 2 years’ experience )
- Experience in geography, cartography and Geographic Information Systems (GIS) which includes skill in ArcGIS applications
- Experience in creating shapefiles, geo-databases, and features
- Knowledge of digital cartography, image processing, geographical information systems (GIS), geospatial production techniques and NGA digital data formats
- Ability to analyze imagery and non-imagery source information for application to NGA hydrographic products and databases
- Current TS/SCI clearance
- Willingness to obtain a CI Polygraph

- Previous Nautical Maritime experience
Responsibilities
- Providing Electronic Nautical Chart Conversion, Production and Review
- Provide support to existing and developing mission areas
- Digital Nautical Chart and or Electronic Nautical Chart Conversion production by performing Cartographic and GIS analyst functions
- Extracting features from a variety of sources including but not necessarily limited to rasterized nautical charts, digital hydrographic survey data and ortho-rectified imagery
- Updating source and source catalogs and information
- Data Conversion/migration

- Pay Range $59,150.00 - $106,925.00
