CART-FILL PHARMACY TECHNICIAN (DSA III)
About The Position
Under the direct supervision of a registered pharmacist, the Cart-Fill Pharmacy Technician provides medications to patients age 18 and older in support of Eastern State Hospital’s vision, mission, and values. The position fills medication cassettes, supports the dispensing section, conducts assigned monthly medication-storage-site inspections on nursing units and/or clinics, and performs unit-dose prepackaging. These tasks require maintaining precise patient records to ensure timely and accurate receipt of medication in the assigned unit and compliance with hospital policies and procedures and state and federal law.
Requirements
- Current Virginia Pharmacy Technician Registration.
- Pharmacy Technician ACPE-approved continuing-education certificates totaling 5 credit hours for calendar year 2025.
- Considerable experience working as a Pharmacy Technician.
- Experience using pharmacy computer systems/programs and Microsoft Office Suite, including an email application.
- Current, valid, unrestricted driver’s license.
Nice To Haves
- College-level courses in mathematics or science.
