About The Position

Stable and growing organization seeking a Carrier Sales Representative in Greenwood, IN. The position involves developing and maintaining a profitable customer base, identifying, sourcing, qualifying, and engaging service providers for Truckload Brokerage solutions, and negotiating rates and securing contracts with service providers. The representative will continually evaluate and monitor service performance.

Requirements

  • Possess strong oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks
  • Self-motivated and possess ability to work effectively in a team environment
  • Possess strong Customer Service skills
  • 2-3 years brokerage/logistics experience
  • Possess a strong working knowledge of Transportation Management Systems and other technology related to the brokerage industry.

Responsibilities

  • Provide T/L rate quotes to customers, working directly with customers on quotes and negotiate pricing for services.
  • Monitor email and electronic load boards.
  • Receive and process shipments according to customer needs, shipment entry, and tracking and follow up.
  • Manage daily load activities through discussion with customers and carriers to ensure excellent customer service.
  • Contact assigned existing and potential customers on a determined schedule to develop customer and carrier relations to increase business.
  • Generate business through cold calls, qualified leads from existing customers and Kelley account representatives.
  • Develop, maintain and grow customer relationships to create a diverse book of business.
  • Source, qualify and set up new carriers from start to finish providing timely distribution of information to teams by uploading into the TMS.
  • Secure contractual agreements with new service providers prior to load execution.
  • Accountable for service provider’s performance and pricing accuracy.
  • Research provider performance problems and provide feedback that facilitates resolution.
  • Assist Accounts Receivable department with any delinquent accounts.
  • Verify and establish customer’s credit.
