About The Position

The Carrier Sales Rep 1 facilitates the successful movement of loads for our customers by contracting and managing an outsourced network of transportation providers. This role involves tracking freight to ensure customer requirements are met by the selected transportation provider and prioritizing customer service by providing customers and carriers with the highest level of service possible. The position requires proactive attitude and strong relationship-building skills to foster connections with customers, carriers, drivers, and stakeholders. The Carrier Sales Rep will develop and execute brokerage strategies, negotiate rates, secure load coverage while maximizing profitability, and drive the use of U.S. Xpress digital and automated systems. Additionally, the role involves securing loads via the carrier network, proactively sourcing new carrier leads to grow the book of business, and providing world-class customer service through constant communication, support, monitoring, tracking, and tracing of all loads, as well as resolving issues for carrier partners and customers. Staying updated on market information regarding the supply and demand of capacity is crucial for understanding market conditions and lane rates.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Bachelor degree in related field or equivalent experience required.
  • 1-2 years of Sales, Marketing or Customer Service experience is preferred
  • Experience working in a deadline driven environment preferred
  • Ability to comfortably negotiate and persuade others.
  • Manage and grow a network of carriers.
  • A strong sense of urgency in order to thrive in a fast-paced work environment
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office suite.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Ability to multitask
  • Good interpersonal skills.
  • Good judgment and problem solving skills.

Responsibilities
