About The Position

The Carroll Area Technology Center in Carrollton, Kentucky, is seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Carpentry Instructor to teach occupational preparatory classes within a career and technical education program. Kentucky’s Office of Career and Technical Education operates Area Technology Centers that provide state-approved career and technical education pathways and prepare students for future careers in collaboration with business and industry partners. The position is advertised under KRS Chapter 156 OCTE and is not subject to KRS 18A classified or unclassified service provisions. The selected applicant will become a member of the Kentucky Teachers’ Retirement System. Applicants and employees may be required to complete drug screening and background checks. Applicants under contract with a local school district must provide written release from their superintendent before an employment offer can be extended. The Kentucky Department of Education participates in E-Verify.

Requirements

Hold a Rank III Kentucky teaching certificate in the subject area to be taught, or hold a Kentucky Statement of Eligibility in the subject area to be taught, or have four years of appropriate work experience, including two years within the last five years.
Acquire personal national certifications applicable to the program area, such as A+Cert, NCCER, ABC, AGC, or ASE. Applicants may be hired before obtaining the required certifications but must acquire them at the next available testing period.
