About The Position

We are seeking Carpenters to support the Veteran community in the Montgomery, AL area. These positions are open to all candidates, including Locum or Traveling professionals. The role involves measuring, cutting, constructing, or repairing wood or wood substitute items such as scaffolding, staging parts, panels, bin pallets, concrete forms, dry walls, and roof decking. It also includes measuring, cutting, constructing, installing, repairing, and modifying building components such as rafters, walls, staircases, windows, and frames, trim work, and cabinets. Carpenters will independently plan and complete projects that involve constructing, altering, repairing, and/or modifying framework, rafters, doors, finished paneling, windows, interior/exterior trim, staircases, trusses, and beams. The role requires planning, measuring, and laying out carpentry materials using broad knowledge of wood materials and substitutes with general and precision woodworking techniques, as well as knowledge of metal framing for walls and drop ceilings, and concrete and masonry skills.

Requirements

Authorization to work in the U.S. permanently, without sponsorship.
3+ years of carpentry experience and knowledge in the construction field.
OSHA 30-hour construction certification.
Ability to lift 50 lbs.
Work at heights and climb ladders.
Work in confined spaces.
Work in high temperatures.
Work in a noisy environment.
Work may involve potential hazardous exposures such as asbestos, machine parts, soot, dirt, grease, chemicals, oil, and fumes.
Ability to function safely while wearing a respirator - Work requiring an OSHA-approved respirator and proper fit testing.
Standing and bending for long periods of time.

Nice To Haves

Previous experience with the VA is a plus.

Responsibilities

Plans, measures, and lay out carpentry materials using broad knowledge of wood materials and substitutes with general and precision woodworking techniques.
Knowledge of metal framing for walls and drop ceilings.
Concrete and Masonry skills.
