About The Position

Christman Facility Solutions, LLC is seeking a Carpenter in our Ada, Oklahoma region. This role is responsible for the acquisition of material, installation of material, and monitoring of jobsite safety. The Carpenter will build barriers for various jobsite environments, prepare work areas, and work with materials such as wood, plastic, fiberglass, or drywall. They will utilize carpentry tools to erect and repair structures, ensure work is level and secure, and join materials using fasteners or adhesives. The role also involves operating saws and carpentry tools safely, checking work for code and specification compliance, and comprehending safety documents like ICRA and PCRA. Specific duties include installing Division 10 accessories (e.g., toilet partitions, cabinets, access panels), implementing wall protection systems, reading blueprints and shop drawings, collaborating with project managers and other trades, and performing finish carpentry such as installing trim and shelving. Requirements

  • Minimum two years of carpentry experience.
  • Must understand safety rules and tool/equipment instructions.
  • Have the ability to take measurements and make calculations.
  • Have good communication skills both orally and in writing.
  • Must pass any skills tests as required by the jobsite.
  • Ability to problem solve when errors occur.
  • Keep tools and workspace organized.
  • Must be conscious of time schedules and deadlines.
  • Maintain regular and punctual attendance.
  • Must be able to tolerate heights without fear.
  • Must have own hand tools.

Responsibilities

  • Builds barriers for various types of jobsite environments, including but not limited to scaffolding, drywall partitions, wood/metal forms, cabinetry work, etc.
  • Prepares work area by removing objects interfering with work, ensures all materials are at the jobsite, and performs preliminary work.
  • Works with varied materials including but not limited to wood, plastic, fiberglass or drywall.
  • Utilizes tools including but not limited to chisels, planes, saws, drills, and sanders to erect and repair structures.
  • Utilizes tools including but not limited to levels, rules, plumb bobs, framing squares and surveying equipment to ensure everything is level and secure.
  • Joins materials with nails, screws, staples or adhesives.
  • Safely operates a variety of saws and other carpentry tools.
  • Checks work along the way to ensure it meets all code and specification requirements.
  • Comprehends and follows epidemiology requirements and safety (ICRA and PCRA) documents.
  • Install a variety of Division 10 accessories in commercial environments, including multi-stall toilet partitions (headrail-braced, floor-mounted, etc.), fire extinguisher cabinets, and access panels.
  • Implement comprehensive wall protection systems, including the precise installation of corner guards, crash rails, and wall panels, ensuring adherence to design specifications and building codes.
  • Read and interpret blueprints and shop drawings to lay out and execute installation plans, ensuring accuracy and efficiency in project completion.
  • Collaborate with project managers and other trades to coordinate workflow and ensure all Division 10 installations are completed on time and within budget.
  • Perform finish carpentry duties such as installing architectural trim, shelving, and other fixtures, upholding high standards of craftsmanship.
