About The Position
Swan Valley Co-op is hiring a Term (1-year) Installed Sales Carpenter at our Home and Building (HABS) location in Swan River, MB. Preference is for a full-time role, but part-time hours may be considered for otherwise qualified candidates. Co-op does business differently. The successful candidate is responsible for delivering excellent customer experiences in alignment with Swan Valley Co-op’s guiding statements. Reporting to the Installed Sales Manager, they are responsible for all labour related tasks associated with installed sales.
Requirements
- Excellent customer service skills, communication skills and the ability to problem solve.
- Class 5 license.
- 3+ years of carpentry experience
- Ability to assess the quality of materials.
- Ability to safely operate tools, machines, and other equipment.
- Advanced critical thinking, decision making and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to fulfill physical job requirements - manual/heavy labour (up to 50lbs) on a repetitive and regular basis.
- Honest and trustworthy, results-oriented and strive to be the best in what you do.
- Belief in building relationships and collaborating to deliver solutions that matter most, and recognition of the value that different perspectives bring to meet shared objectives.
Nice To Haves
- Completion of a recognized apprenticeship would be considered an asset.
- Candidates who currently possess their own standard trade tools
Responsibilities
- Working with customers to determine the scope and components included in the project
- Ensuring the quality and condition of all merchandise and installation meets a standard of excellence
- Assisting with erecting and dismantling of forms, scaffolding, ramps, catwalks, and barricades
- Communicating any complaints, concerns, or warranty issues, and assisting with assessment and placement of claims for damaged or faulty merchandise to the Installed Sales Manager
- Operating and maintaining various power tools
- Observing safety measures and reporting any hazardous conditions immediately, ensuring department image and safety standards are withheld
