About The Position

This position is responsible for the fabrication, quality and accuracy related to the production of assigned exhibits and / or projects. The role involves the fabrication of custom exhibits, providing technical guidance and training to team members, and general cabinetmaking ability. A general knowledge and ability to work with wood, aluminum, steel, paint, and graphics is necessary. The carpenter will work with various materials using approved equipment, study blueprints and diagrams to determine dimensions, and strictly follow all safety guidelines.

Requirements

• 5+ years of carpentry / cabinetmaking experience required
• Ability to read and interpret shop drawings
• Strong ability to handle deadline pressures and multiple assignments
• Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, verbal, diagram, or schedule form
• Must have the ability to lift and carry up to 60 lbs. on a regular basis
• Must have manual dexterity sufficient to reach/handle items, work with fingers and perceive attributes of objects and materials
• Will be required to regularly stand, walk, stoop, bend, reach, push and pull

Responsibilities
