Requirements

  • Proven experience as carpenter
  • Hands-on experience in working with carpentry materials.
  • Good knowledge of wood properties and other carpentry materials.
  • Good mechanical and technical skills and attention to detail
  • Must have good planning and time-management skills.
  • A personal values system demonstrably consistent with organizational values
  • Ability to be punctual and dependable.
  • Works well as part of a team.
  • Need to have basic carpentry hand tools for use with position.
  • 1-3 years’ experience with carpentry background (Level I).
  • 4-6 years’ experience working carpentry background (Level II).

Nice To Haves

  • Excellent understanding of carpentry techniques and methods of installation and construction.
  • Advanced techniques with woodworking machineries like Bandsaw, drill press, and bench grinder.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for adhering to all Company and Project safety programs, policies, and procedures as well as all Federal, State, and local safety codes and regulations.
  • Focus on finer details of woodworking.
  • Measures, marks, and arranges materials to established layout based on blueprints or instructions from supervisors.
  • Calculating parts, components, materials, and supplies requirements.
  • Cutting and shaping components by determining appropriate methods for cutting, shaping, and assembling parts.
  • Planning layout and altering designs as needed.
  • Setting-up and operating equipment (including power saws, sanders, routers, grinders) to securely build assigned projects.
  • Joins materials with the most appropriate nail, screw, staple, or adhesive.
  • Trimming parts using hand tools and measuring tools.
  • Assembles and fastens materials to make frameworks or props, using hand tools and wood screws, nails, dowel pins, or glue.
  • Ensures the accuracy of work by checking completed projects with tools such as levels, surveying equipment, or framing squares; corrects problems as needed.
  • Read blueprints, drawings, and sketches to fully grasp requirements.
  • Ability to cut, fit, and then install the wooden material according to specific measurements making sure corners are crisp, joints are tight, and moldings are level.
