About The Position

This is a full-time Carpenter position with a work schedule of 6:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., including a rotating schedule for on-call duties and snow removal. The role is part of the AFSCME union.

Requirements

High school degree or GED equivalent required.
Knowledge of construction framing/finishing or general carpentry required.
Five years in carpentry field required.
Driver's License
Act 34

Nice To Haves

Two years' experience in institutional maintenance preferred.
General knowledge of email, Word and other common software programs preferred

Responsibilities

Install and maintain ceiling systems such as but limited to acoustical tile and suspension systems.
Must have knowledge of and experience with Fire/smoke door assemblies as it relates to the installation, inspection and repair.
Set hollow metal door jambs and hang doors.
Install and repair various flooring systems.
Knowledge of general construction techniques and materials such as ability to install metals studs and drywall, install glass and glazing.
Is able to work at heights off of ladders and scaffold in order to perform maintenance, repairs and new installation of above systems
Assists in snow removal duties
Performs wheelchair and litter maintenance and repairs.
Must be able to demonstrate the ability to read a rule.
Have experience and can demonstrate the ability to repair Class I builders hardware both cylindrical and mortise style.
Available for on call.
