About The Position

This role involves performing carpenter duties including building and construction for projects, plumber skills, and general handyman tasks. The position requires operating equipment in the clean-up of outside areas and reporting equipment deficiencies or malfunctions. Additionally, the role involves performing related duties as directed by supervision, such as moving equipment and furniture, hanging pictures and decorations, and other manual labor needs. Occasional use of a Front End Loader is also part of the job. The work environment includes exposure to noise, dirt, dust, mill chemicals, oil, and fire, with 70% of the time spent outdoors in various weather conditions. Safety is paramount, requiring the use of various safety equipment including steel-toed safety boots, hearing protection, safety glasses, gloves, hot coat, respirators, and a hard hat.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• Two years related work experience in similar position.
• Must have both written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to read and speak English and understand written and verbal instructions in English.
• Driver’s license.
• Must be able to follow verbal and written instruction from Supervisor.
• Must be able to communicate using hand signals and radio.
• Must change plans to meet work demands/deadlines.
• Must wear safety-toed work boots, hearing protection, safety glasses, gloves, hot coat, respirators (when in areas where required) and hard hat.
• Must be able to detect fire, gas leaks, and chemical spills.
• Must have good balance coordination when climbing or operating equipment.
