About The Position

Sureway Construction is one of Alberta’s largest heavy construction contractors, with over 50 years’ experience, involved in civil earthworks and grading, utilities and offsite, mine operation and aggregate extraction. Work Local, Work Sureway! This is a full-time, seasonal position with a schedule of 10+ hours per day, working 10 and 4, Monday to Thursday. Overtime is paid after 10 hours per day or 40 hours per week. The role requires a hard-working, reliable individual who is flexible with their schedule and able to work in physically demanding conditions. The position is located at the Esso Refinery in Edmonton, AB, and does not have direct access to public transportation.

Requirements

Must hold a valid Journeyman Ticket for Carpentry for Journeyman
Must have 3 years experience as a carpenter on a commercial or industrial site.
Flatwork experience required.
Experience with concrete formwork.
Personal Reliable Vehicle
CSA approved steel toed boots with 6” ankle support
Valid Driver’s License (non GDL)

Nice To Haves

CSTS-09, and H2S Awareness training is an asset.

Responsibilities

Promote, execute and adhere to the company’s safety program, and encourage all employees, subcontractors and consultants to adopt safety as a culture.
Mix, pour, and spread construction materials.
Perform construction activities.
Erect and dismantle concrete forms, ramps, catwalks, shoring and barricades as required.
