Carpenter- Commercial Construction
About The Position
MacBracey Corporation is seeking a full-time commercial carpenter. The carpenter will be responsible for a full range of carpentry including but not limited to demolition, framing, drywall hanging and finishing, doors and frames, acoustic tile ceilings, and painting. The Carpenter will be required to work with the project Superintendent to assist in building and remodeling various types of spaces while following building and safety codes. MacBracey typically works in a 1-1.5 hour radius of our office located in Washington. Daily travel to sites is required, but no overnight travel is required.
Requirements
- Framing
- Drywall - Hang & Finish
- Painting
- Hollow Metal Doors and Frames/Door Hardware
- Acoustic Tile Ceilings
- Safely operate hand and power tools
- Perform heavy physical labor (i.e. lifting of equipment or materials up to 50 lbs.)
- Must be able to pass a drug test
- High school diploma or GED
Nice To Haves
- 3-5 years experience working as a carpenter or apprentice in a commercial, residential, or facilities operations setting is a plus.
Responsibilities
- Assist in framing of walls using both metal and wood studs
- Installation, finishing, and sanding of drywall to prepare for painting
- Install structures and fixtures, such as windows, frames, and trim, or hardware, using carpenter's hand and power tools
- Perform flooring tasks including but not limited to installation of vinyl cove base and VCT flooring
- Demolition / Breakdown of existing structures (drywall, studs, flooring, electric, plumbing, etc.)
- Able to accurately comply with the instructions and requests provided by the Project Superintendent
