About The Position

StructSure Projects is seeking General Carpenter(s) / Laborer(s) for a job at Fort Bragg, North Carolina. This position involves performing carpentry and laborer duties on a job site. Construction experience on government projects is required. Due to the nature of the work on government military bases, candidates must be able to obtain base access through a background screening and possess a valid driver's license. The position reports to the jobsite foreman and/or site superintendent. This role is covered under the Davis-Bacon Act, with prevailing wage rates and fringe benefits applied in accordance with the U.S. Department of Labor wage determination.

Requirements

  • Construction experience on government projects required.
  • Must be able to obtain base access by passing a background screening.
  • Must possess a valid, current driver's license.
  • Clean background check.
  • Ability to navigate through a construction site for extended periods.
  • Ability to perform manual labor, lifting and moving equipment, ascend and descend scaffolds and ladders, work at heights, and maintain balance.
  • Have full range of mobility in upper and lower body.
  • Ability to hold, handle, and operate/manipulate several objects and materials.
  • Ability to communicate in person and discern direction.
  • Ability to utilize depth perception and coordinate movements of eyes, hands, fingers, and feet.
  • Proficient with OSHA safety standards and follows these standards.

Nice To Haves

  • Attended trade school, such as carpentry.
  • Experience as a carpenter for healthcare construction projects; 3 years minimum.
  • Self-driven and dependable.
  • Finished work is of high quality and uses general carpentry principles to perform work.
  • Knowledge of the construction industry.
  • Above average communication skills.
  • Able to read and interpret blueprints.
  • Familiar with infection control and adheres to infection control standards.
  • CPR/Standard First Aid certificate.
  • OSHA 10 certificate preferred.
  • Ability to distinguish colors is needed for crane operators, transport drivers, and operators of powder actuated equipment.

Responsibilities

  • General carpentry and labor including basic wall construction, door hardware, miscellaneous accessory installation, maintenance and clean up (sweeping and mopping), and casework installation.
  • Assist site management staff as directed.
  • Ensure safety and infection control standards are followed.
